Complex 1 Polymorphisms and Mutations
St. Luke’s-Roosevelt is conducting comprehensive genetic studies to define the role of Complex I variants in various neurodegenerative disorders including Multiple Sclerosis. As part of these efforts, we have set up a molecular screening to identify mutations with pathogenic significance within genes of Complex I in patients with metabolic encephalopathy and Complex I deficiency.
Our goal is to identify pathogenic mutations and variants in genes of Complex I, in order to better understand the role of Complex I in the process of neurodegeneration.
