SWOG 0424- Molecular Epidemiology Case-Series Study of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer in Smoking and Non-Smoking Women and Men

 Summary:
This is a molecular epidemiology case-series study of non-small cell lung cancer in smoking and non-smoking women and men. Now only non-smoking patents are recruiting to this trial. 
 Patients on this study will be asked:

  • To complete a questionnaire in the clinic within 7 days of registration.  (Patients must not take the questionnaire home for completion.)
  • To have a blood specimen collected within 14 days of registration for submission to Columbia University
  • To have tumor tissue blocks or slides submitted within 14 to 30 days of registration to Roswell Park Cancer Institute

Eligibility and Treatment Plan:
Patients must have newly-diagnosed (within 120 days), primary, histologically confirmed Stage I, II, IIIA or IIIB. Patients must not have received prior systemic chemotherapy or radiation therapy for lung cancer.
