Our ambulance teams are staffed with professional paramedics who can perform CPR, start IVs, treat shock, and restart the heart in cardiac arrest. For critical cases, the physician knows the patient is on the way and has been monitoring their condition en route through direct communication with the ambulance.

Roosevelt Hospital

Roosevelt Hospital is a University Hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. The hospital has built a solid reputation providing top-quality medical care in its service to the midtown residential and business community. The Roosevelt Hospital Emergency Department, with its cardiac/critical suite and trauma/surgery area (including specially designed X-ray equipment), is able to treat even the most seriously ill patients with speed and expertise. Roosevelt Hospital is proud to specialize in such diverse areas as hand surgery, treatment of performing artists, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, substance abuse treatment, sickle cell research and open heart surgery. In addition to offering the FASTCARE emergency medical service, we are also a 911 receiving center in New York City’s Emergency Medical Service.

Roosevelt Hospital is a member of New York City’s Continuum health network, which includes these other respected academic medical centers: Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Luke’s Hospital, Long Island College Hospital, and The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. The Continuum network also encompasses ambulatory health centers and group and private practice settings throughout New York City and Westchester County.
