Spine and Spinal Cord Infections

Discitis. Discitis is an infection of the disc between vertebrae.
Osteomyelitis. Osteomyelitis is a bone infection, primarily caused by bacteria.
Spinal abscess. Spinal abscess is an infection and inflammation of the spinal cord. This may lead to additional abscess formation in the spinal canal with compression of the spinal cord and or the nerves.
Drainage of the abscess and antibiotic treatment for the infection can result in complete cure.
