St. Luke's Hospital Volunteers are caring individuals who want to help others, are responsible and mature, and comply with hospital guidelines. By dedicating time to our hospital, you will become part of a unique group that works directly with the patients in the playroom and at the bedside.

Volunteers are responsible for cleaning toys, the playroom, and playing with the children. We provide board games, crafts, toys, puzzles and video games.

Requirements for volunteer work at St. Luke's Hospital:

  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) shots
  • TB test
  • Government-issued picture ID
  • Social Security card or tax statement with name, address and phone number
  • Resume
  • Name, address and phone of primary doctor
  • If you are a student, we need a letter from the Dean of your school stating your major and that you are in good academic standing.

To become a volunteer, you must contact the Child Life Program (212) 523-3526 or the Volunteer office at (212) 523-2188.
