HIV/AIDS Antiretrovirals for Treatment
Summary: The AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (ACTU) at Beth Israel Medical Center has been conducting studies under the auspices of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a division of the National Institutes of Health, and the pharmaceutical industry since 1987. Over the past 12 years, we have participated in numerous trials that led to the approval of many of the treatments that are now commonly used to treat HIV infection and the associated opportunistic infections. We are currently participating in trials that are evaluating new investigational drugs and well as ones that are FDA approved. Studies are available for patients without previous anti-HIV drug experience and for patients who have been previously treated, including salvage therapy regimens. Criteria for Participation: Adults (18 year of age and older) who are HIV-positive. |
