Summary:

The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Beth Israel Medical Center is participating in a research project to assess and compare the efficacy of Lantus Apidra multiply daily injections versus premix insulin treatment in patients with diabetes Mellitus type 1 and type 2. This is a multi-center, randomized, cross-over study.

Criteria for Participation:

  • Type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus at least 6 months
  • Ages 21-70 years of age
  • Using insulin for 3 months
  • Willing and able to perform self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) and continous glocose monitoring (CGMS)
