Skin pigmentation and vitamin D status

Summary:
The department of dermatology is inviting the community to take part in a prospective study assessing vitamin D levels and skin color. The participant will complete a short questionnaire and undergo a one time blood draw to assess serum vitamin D levels, as well as investigator assessments to measure skin pigment. This will during a single visit.


Criteria for Participation:

  • Healthy adults
  •  18 – 40 years of age
  • Resident of New York City in the past 12 months

Benefits and/or Compensation:

  • Evaluation and treatment by a board certified dermatologist
  • Free vitamin D level screening
